AIK-UTD's Pontus Alebäck suffered a sore thigh after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 5th minute, John Bohlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 6 minutes into the match, Ervalla's goalkeeper Tommy Mårtensson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sune Lang. Sven-Arne Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Bergqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. AIK-UTD's Boris Olsmann got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in AIK-UTD's zone, Ingvar Billvall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Arne Hedström came out of the goal and Ingvar Billvall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the game, Karl-Ove Bern was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ervalla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AIK-UTD the free kick. In the 18th match minute, Ervalla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Ove Bern to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Bengt Alströmmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvald Bergström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 minutes, Hjalmar Vidman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIK-UTD and the Ervalla players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ervalla were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after AIK-UTD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kaj Lind took the corner. Charlie Zander was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A hard shot 60 in the game by Victor Bergqvist from a close distance when the talented Sven-Arne Hedström managed to make a qualified save. AIK-UTD's players were relieved. If Victor Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Arne Hedström was a little too slow when Ingvar Billvall got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 0-2. Sven-Arne Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Billvall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Ervalla's Victor Bergqvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sven-Arne Hedström. That made the score 0-3 after 76 minutes of play. A collision led to Ervalla getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Per-Oskar Wallmark hit a great ball. Sven-Arne Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Billvall in the 84th minute of the match. Ervalla's Ingvar Billvall got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Ervalla supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ervalla would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
