Andreas Juhlin kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Johannes Östensson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Christer Håkansson fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ljungby's protests and gave Christer Håkansson a yellow card for diving instead. Christer Håkansson hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. A hard shot 27 in the game by Markus Östlund from a close distance when the talented Alfred Stigsson managed to make a qualified save. Ljungby's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claes Öman was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Bergstedt in the 53rd minute of play forced Ljungby's goalkeeper Alfred Stigsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd match minute, Ljungby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sture Holmgren to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ljungby getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Sture Holmgren hit a great ball. Richard Hedberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Östensson in the 74th minute of play. Johannes Östensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Hedberg having to interfere. Nils Säv was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 84th match minute, Ljungby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Säv to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Tord Fernkvist sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ljungby's Alfred Stigsson didn't even have to move. Alfred Stigsson came out of the goal and Sten Bergstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sten Bergstedt charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sten Bergstedt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sten Bergstedt hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ljungby! In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Sjulsmark. Tord Fernkvist stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfred Stigsson. 3-1. Alfred Stigsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Östlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ljungby's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
