Spectators: 6187 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 10) 2 minutes into the game, Johannes Östensson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vincent Igelström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Sture Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birger Bure fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Stigsson having to interfere. Alfred Stigsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Beck's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Sture Holmgren's late challenge caught a Malmö FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sture Holmgren helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 minutes of play, Malmö FF's Jens-Åke Ström made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfred Stigsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40thth minute of the game Christian Skog who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malmö FF's Vincent Igelström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Skog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Igelström having to interfere. Birger Bure kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Vincent Igelström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claes Öman, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claes Öman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bengt Beck took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Stigsson. Alfred Stigsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jens-Åke Ström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alfred Stigsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes, Andréas Benet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmö FF and the Ljungby players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Malmö FF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! Malmö FF:s Vincent Igelström showed great skill when he stopped Nils Säv:s penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evert Haeger during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute, Evert Haeger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johannes Östensson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 78th playminute. If Johannes Östensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Johannes Östensson notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Malmö FF's Vincent Igelström. Vincent Igelström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 94th minute Claes Öman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Igelström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 101 minutes, Johannes Östensson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ljungby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johannes Östensson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
