The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan-Olof Sundström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Gunnarsson in the 3rd minute of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Hubert Kjellqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Björkliden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hubert Kjellqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th minute, Björkliden's Per Biörk ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jan-Olof Sundström. Jan-Olof Sundström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ove Gunnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Olof Sundström having to interfere. When Hans Näfver fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dorotea's protests and gave Hans Näfver a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Dorotea getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hans Näfver hit a great ball. Jan-Olof Sundström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Gunnarsson in the 32nd minute of play. Jan-Olof Sundström made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Hubert Kjellqvist sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th of the match, Ove Gunnarsson tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Jan-Olof Sundström got in the way and made a wonderful save. Jens-Ove Petersson fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 47th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ove Gunnarsson made a kick off. Björkliden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hubert Kjellqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Björkliden fully deserved thier win.
