Per-Arne Abelsson made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Malte Salqvist sent off a good shot on target. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when FC Gräddhyllan's Arne Berggren in the 12th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Per-Arne Abelsson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Akademin through an amazing save. In the 17th minute, Allan Felin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Gräddhyllan's Egon Hansson got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by August Boberg in the 19th minute of play forced FC Gräddhyllan's goalkeeper Agne Ekman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agne Ekman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörgen Wallin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes of play, FC Gräddhyllan's Malte Salqvist made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Per-Arne Abelsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Nilsson got free with Per-Arne Abelsson in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Agne Ekman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Nyqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Nyqvist in the 30th minute of play forced FC Gräddhyllan's goalkeeper Agne Ekman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kent Falkrantz lost his temper 32 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of FC Gräddhyllan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Akademin:s goal. Agne Ekman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörgen Wallin in the 35th minute of the match. When Agne Vennerkvist came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Akademin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agne Vennerkvist couldn't finish the play. Jens-Åke Pihlblad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jens-Åke Pihlblad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Akademin's zone, Malte Salqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Arne Abelsson came out of the goal and Malte Salqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Allan Felin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Malte Salqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Malte Salqvist fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gräddhyllan's protests and gave Malte Salqvist a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd match minute, FC Gräddhyllan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Salqvist to maneuver through the defense. After 54 minutes, Åke Henriksson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Gräddhyllan and the Akademin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, one of FC Gräddhyllan:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Gräddhyllan. FC Gräddhyllan:s Agne Ekman showed great skill when he stopped August Boberg:s penalty. When Sven Pedersson fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gräddhyllan's protests and gave Sven Pedersson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Gräddhyllan getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Sven Pedersson hit a great ball. Malte Salqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Arne Abelsson having to interfere. Malte Salqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Per-Arne Abelsson having to make a save. Malte Salqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Per-Arne Abelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Akademin's Jens-Erik Dusett got a free kick in the 64th minute. Sven Pedersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne Berggren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Per-Arne Abelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jens-Åke Pihlblad might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per-Arne Abelsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jens-Åke Pihlblad ran back to his position shaking his head. Per-Arne Abelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Berggren in the 72nd minute of play. Malte Salqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Filiph Qvalfeldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Agne Ekman made a huge save. After some careless play in the Akademin defense, Jens-Åke Pihlblad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Arne Abelsson. The Akademin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Arne Abelsson should have stopped the shot. Jens-Åke Pihlblad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jens-Åke Pihlblad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Per-Arne Abelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
