Jenny Ljung ACF's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Tholsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Haeger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Ove Käcker's late challenge caught a Jenny Ljung ACF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Ove Käcker helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Färjestad BK's Karl-Ove Käcker got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Ola Kilman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albert Gustafsson during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Färjestad BK got a freekick which was hit by Albert Gustafsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Alegren in the 34th minute of play forced Jenny Ljung ACF's goalkeeper Nils Sundin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils Sundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Blomkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sonny Blomkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Färjestad BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Tholsson made a kick off. Sonny Blomkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Alfons Hallgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 played minutes Färjestad BK got a freekick which was hit by Harry Ambjörnsson. Allan Alegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils Sundin having to interfere. The referee ignored Jenny Ljung ACF's protests and gave Alvar Ekblom a yellow card for diving instead. Alvar Ekblom kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Färjestad BK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
