Vårgårda BK's Andréas Möller couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vartofta FK. 15 minutes into the game, Stig Brodin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vartofta FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vårgårda BK the free kick. The supporters of Vårgårda BK booed when Vartofta FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig Brodin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manfred Albohm in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Algot Kollberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Albert Hermansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tomas Hansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henning Lindmark's late challenge caught a Vårgårda BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henning Lindmark helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Vartofta FK getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Henning Lindmark hit a great ball. After 31 minutes, Magnus Lövskog mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vartofta FK and the Vårgårda BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Hansson came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Vartofta FK's Karl Ekblom. But to his dismay, Karl Ekblom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Vårgårda BK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vartofta FK:s goal. Victor Qvarnström walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Karl Ekblom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the game, Albert Hermansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tomas Hansson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Gudmundsson to make the kick off. Albert Hermansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Tomas Hansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl Ekblom's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Tomas Hansson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. During the 68th minute of the match Stig Brodin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Stig Brodin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Vartofta FK's Stig Brodin got a free kick in the 69th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manfred Albohm in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Algot Kollberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 75th match minute, Vårgårda BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andréas Möller to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl Ekblom got free with Tomas Hansson in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Vartofta FK booed when Vårgårda BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Utfal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl Ekblom struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Tomas Hansson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vartofta FK. Albert Hermansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl Ekblom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Algot Kollberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfred Albohm in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Jörgen Utfal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vartofta FK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
