Vimmerby's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Casper Nyberg 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Eskil Lindsten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingemar Jonsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Hugo Sigman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vejby IF's Eskil Lindsten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Sigman in the 40th minute of play. Ingemar Jonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Eskil Lindsten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Peter Hellkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Sigman made a kick off. Eskil Lindsten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ingemar Jonsson in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Gösta Billvall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Sigman in the 58th minute of play forced Vejby IF's goalkeeper Eskil Lindsten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ingemar Jonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Eskil Lindsten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hugo Sigman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Peter Hellkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pontus Hjeltman, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 83rd minute Hugo Sigman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Lindsten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casper Nyberg in the 90th minute of play forced Vimmerby's goalkeeper Nils-Emil Beckeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Hugo Sigman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vimmerby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Sigman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Eskil Lindsten successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Nils-Emil Beckeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casper Nyberg in the 96th minute of play.
