Jack Stor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Jack Stor came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Hammarby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Stor couldn't finish the play. Alexander Helberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikael Apelkvist having to interfere. Alexander Helberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Mikael Apelkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Per-Åke Vidman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Söderberga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Söderberga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Åke Vidman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Ove Kielstedt, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alexander Helberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jack Stor might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mikael Apelkvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 35th minute, Hammarby IF's Alexander Helberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Boris Ljungberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harry Örtlund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boris Ljungberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 58 minutes in the game, Olov Kuse fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Harry Örtlund having to interfere. One of Hammarby IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Söderberga FC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Söderberga FC's Dag Nyman got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Harry Örtlund. Olov Kuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harry Örtlund having to interfere. Jan-Ove Kielstedt hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 81st match minute, Söderberga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Börje Skarkman to maneuver through the defense. Söderberga FC's Mikael Apelkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Stor in the 84th minute of play. When Hammarby IF's Alexander Helberg in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Söderberga FC's goalie prevented a goal.
