Spectators: 7281 (Terracing: 5463, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 144) 10 minutes into the match, Åsa's goalkeeper Jonathan Thedin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Bocklund. Björn Nordström struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Jonathan Thedin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Örby IS. In the 12th minute, Timmy Hökkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Bocklund got free with Jonathan Thedin in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kurt Sundén lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Åsa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! In the 22nd minute, Örby IS's Björn Nordström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Jan Bocklund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Örby IS's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Bocklund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Thedin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan Bocklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Thedin having to interfere. Jonathan Thedin made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Jan Bocklund sent off a good shot on target. Jan Bocklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Thedin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Bocklund ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magnus Svanberg during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Åsa got a freekick which was hit by Magnus Svanberg. Jonathan Thedin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Åberg in the 49th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Björn Nordström made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Björn Nordström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Thedin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Thedin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Bocklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Jan Bocklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Björn Nordström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Thedin having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Viggo Hellkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åsa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viggo Hellkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan Bocklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Viggo Hellkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Åsa booed when Örby IS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Arne Hägg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Viggo Hellkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åsa's supporters rose to their feet, but Viggo Hellkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georg Delin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Örby IS's Per-Arne Hägg got a free kick in the 78th minute. If Jan Bocklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
