If Jens-Erik Palm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hubert Lindqvist in the 32nd minute of play forced Värmdö FK's goalkeeper Dick Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Värmdö FK's Karl-Erik Abelsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egon Olofsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Egon Olofsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Erik Palm in the 45th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Harry Vallmark managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Insjön FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Vallmark was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harry Vallmark was the one to do the kick off. Insjön FF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eskil Ahlberg in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on Insjön FF's corner Eskil Ahlberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dick Mårtensson quite easily take care of the ball. Hubert Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malte Alström charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Malte Alström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Värmdö FK getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Malte Alström hit a great ball. Insjön FF's Egon Olofsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Erik Abelsson in the 60th minute of play. Karl-Erik Abelsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egon Olofsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl-Erik Abelsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Värmdö FK's Dick Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Vallmark in the 66th minute of play. Karl-Erik Abelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Olofsson having to interfere. Egon Olofsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Erik Abelsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Harry Vallmark struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Dick Mårtensson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Insjön FF. A collision led to Insjön FF getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Eskil Ahlberg hit a great ball. Jan-Erik Bruhn charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Erik Bruhn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th match minute, Värmdö FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Erik Bruhn to maneuver through the defense. Harry Vallmark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Dick Mårtensson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egon Olofsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jens-Erik Palm went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
