The referee showed Pål Friberger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 12 minutes, Pelle Skytt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Zenit and the Madi Banja players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Zenit's Pelle Skytt got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Pontus Vennerdal threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Zenit's Herbert Jernberg quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 21 played minutes FC Zenit got a freekick which was hit by Pelle Skytt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaf Thorsberg in the 29th minute of play forced FC Zenit's goalkeeper Per-Åke Skräddare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Zenit's Pål Friberger managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Christian Jönsätt in the 31 minute of the game. 32 minutes into the match, Madi Banja's goal looked a bit too open when Petter Tingberg came free, but Kennet Valrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petter Tingberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Kennet Valrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gunnar Lindsten made a kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Zenit's Bo Vidman got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Madi Banja's Magnus Lundgren broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Pål Friberger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kennet Valrot having to interfere. Krister Sjödin kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. It was beautiful to see FC Zenit's Bo Vidman in action when he in the 59th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Pelle Skytt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Zenit's supporters rose to their feet, but Pelle Skytt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kennet Valrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pelle Skytt might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kennet Valrot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pelle Skytt ran back to his position shaking his head. Gunnar Lindsten might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per-Åke Skräddare.
