The tension between the IF Vasaparken and the Sälen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bo Sundin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Peter Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. Bo Sundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nils Åström to make the kick off. A collision led to IF Vasaparken getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Mathias Odman hit a great ball. If Peter Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Bo Sundin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Nils Åström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sälen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Åström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Odman during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in IF Vasaparken's zone, Peter Bergqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bo Sundin came out of the goal and Peter Bergqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Peter Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Peter Bergqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bo Sundin. IF Vasaparken's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Bergqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. The IF Vasaparken fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sälen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
