Spectators: 7266 (Terracing: 5451, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Erik Söderqwist started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes, Åke Bern mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grimslöv and the Nye IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 played minutes Grimslöv got a freekick which was hit by Åke Bern. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grimslöv's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Birger Sandström was slow to take the kick. During this time Nye IK's players had a chance to rest. Birger Sandström made a great header on Nye IK's corner, it was just that Grimslöv's Ivar Ekrot managed to reach the ball for a save. 22 minutes into the game, Grimslöv's Michel Asserlindh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tord Rydelius made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Tord Rydelius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Asserlindh in the 27th minute of the match. Grimslöv's Michel Asserlindh got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sture Björck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tord Rydelius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Michel Asserlindh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimslöv's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Asserlindh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sture Björck in the 44th minute of play forced Nye IK's goalkeeper Tord Rydelius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Michel Asserlindh made a precise shot to the right of Tord Rydelius. Nye IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After the first half Grimslöv were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michel Asserlindh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Erik Söderqwist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivar Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Max Snell got free with Tord Rydelius in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anton Kråk hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Michel Asserlindh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimslöv's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Asserlindh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 62 in the game by Sture Björck from a close distance when the talented Tord Rydelius managed to make a qualified save. Nye IK's players were relieved. Hampus Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sture Björck came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Grimslöv fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sture Björck couldn't finish the play. If Sture Björck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Björck got free with Tord Rydelius in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tord Rydelius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Asserlindh in the 83rd minute of play. Sture Björck succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 88th playminute. In the 94th match minute, Grimslöv was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Bern to maneuver through the defense. Grimslöv's Gunnar Arvidsson suffered a concussion in the 95th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 95 minutes into the game, Anton Kråk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nye IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grimslöv the free kick. In the 96th minute, Anton Kråk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grimslöv's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
