In the 14th match minute, Kalvsvik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakarias Björkqvist to maneuver through the defense. Peter Klack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christopher Tidéksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Sakarias Björkqvist's late challenge caught a Real Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Börje Vase fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kalvsvik's protests and gave Börje Vase a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 minutes, Viktor Juhlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kalvsvik and the Real Madrid players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
