Skoghall IK's Samuel Aleberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Grelsson in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Claes Anundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skoghall IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claes Anundsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tommy Grelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Oskar Wester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tommy Grelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Samuel Aleberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute of the match Oskar Levander sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Torsten Ahlroth skillfully saved the ball. Jan-Åke Ekenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Ahlroth having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Claes Anundsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skoghall IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Claes Anundsson put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Torsten Ahlroth. Tommy Grelsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Aleberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan-Åke Ekenberg was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes in the game, Jan-Åke Ekenberg fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Torsten Ahlroth having to interfere. After having played for 53 minutes, Claes Anundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Jan-Åke Ekenberg came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Skoghall IK fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 59 minutes, Jan-Åke Ekenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skoghall IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Åke Ekenberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GOAL's Sven-Oskar Wester got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th match minute, Skoghall IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ove Klemensson to maneuver through the defense. Claes Anundsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st match minute, GOAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mårten Kellberg to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the game, one of GOAL:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sven-Oskar Wester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 80 minutes, Samuel Andreasson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skoghall IK and the GOAL players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of GOAL booed when Skoghall IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Andreasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Oskar Wester scored 1-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Samuel Aleberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Oskar Wester in the 92nd minute of play forced Skoghall IK's goalkeeper Samuel Aleberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
