In the 15th minute of the match Valentin Andersson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frans Smefeldt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in IFK TUMBA's zone, Birger Albohm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frans Smefeldt came out of the goal and Birger Albohm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 24 minutes, Kaj Tillman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borås United and the IFK TUMBA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Borås United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! When Henric Åhman came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the IFK TUMBA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henric Åhman couldn't finish the play. In the 31st match minute, IFK TUMBA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Blomqvist to maneuver through the defense. Henric Åhman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dan Kielstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Henric Åhman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristian Arenstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Kielstedt having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Per-Olof Hybbert made a kick off. Bertil Blomqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bertil Blomqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, IFK TUMBA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Blomqvist to maneuver through the defense. Dan Kielstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henric Åhman in the 63rd minute of the match. 1-1 became the score in the 70th minute when Henric Åhman elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dan Kielstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Arenstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When IFK TUMBA's Kristian Arenstedt in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. One of Borås United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of IFK TUMBA:s goal. Birger Albohm did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Frans Smefeldt 96 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
