The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tommy Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. The audience was convinced that Olov Eklund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Greger Lingren was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Greger Lingren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Eklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Genarp IK got a freekick which was hit by Erik Åkerman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakob Biörkquist in the 31st minute of play forced Genarp IK's goalkeeper Greger Lingren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Alexander Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Greger Kielberg in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Greger Lingren saved Genarp IK from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Greger Kielberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linderöds if's supporters rose to their feet, but Greger Kielberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greger Lingren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greger Kielberg struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Greger Lingren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linderöds if. Greger Lingren came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Linderöds if's Olov Eklund. But to his dismay, Olov Eklund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olov Eklund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Börge Nordkvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Linderöds if's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 52nd minute, Erik Åkerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Jakob Biörkquist sped through Genarp IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Greger Lingren. Greger Kielberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Greger Lingren made a huge save. In the 62nd minute, Olov Eklund made a precise shot to the right of Greger Lingren. Genarp IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 70th match minute, Linderöds if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Börge Nordkvist to maneuver through the defense. When Konrad Asklund came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Genarp IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konrad Asklund couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Tommy Ek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genarp IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommy Ek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Linberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
