In the 89th minute, Åke Bengtsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Åke Bryngelsson sped through Galatasaray SK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sebastian Ekegren. Galatasaray SK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
