Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jörgen Wallin in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calle Västlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Hydén in the 34th minute of play forced Jukkasjärvi IK's goalkeeper Calle Västlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jukkasjärvi IK's zone, Jörgen Wallin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calle Västlund came out of the goal and Jörgen Wallin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roger Hydén during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The excitement rose when Jukkasjärvi IK's Kurt Lindblom after 43 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Eskilstuna Internazionale's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-0. After 45 played minutes Eskilstuna Internazionale got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Ove Walmarsson. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jörgen Wallin was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Jörgen Wallin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Calle Västlund was relentless in the 54th minute of the game.
