The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bengt-Arne Biörk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. After 12 played minutes, Björkvik FK's Peder Lundin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sören Bergman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Björkvik FK reached it. Hans Deckberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joakim Linberg in the 20th minute. The audience was convinced that Ivar Billing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sören Bergman was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Ivar Billing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Björkvik FK's Ivar Billing got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Björkvik FK's Bengt-Arne Biörk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sören Bergman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. David Myr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Hans Deckberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joakim Linberg in the 61st minute of the match. Ivar Billing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sören Bergman having to interfere. Arne Wennerqvist's late challenge caught a Björkvik FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arne Wennerqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bettna fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Sören Bergman, was totally fooled by Björkvik FK's Sten Berg, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Bengt-Arne Biörk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Björkvik FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Arne Biörk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sören Bergman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Bengt-Arne Biörk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Björkvik FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Arne Biörk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sören Bergman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Alén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bettna's Sören Bergman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Bettna from getting a goal against them. Bengt-Arne Biörk was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Matthias Hellsing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt-Arne Biörk was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Björkvik FK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Hugo Alén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99th minute, Bettna's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bengt-Arne Biörk fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Björkvik FK played a much better game than Bettna and deserved their victory. The Bettna players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
