If Jonas Östensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, La Mazza's Christer Alefors nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Björn Söderström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Olof Hagberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Björn Söderström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olof Hagberg's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. La Mazza's Olof Hagberg got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Björn Söderström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christer Alefors in the 24th minute of the match. When La Mazza's Olof Hagberg in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jönköping's goalie prevented a goal. Björn Söderström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th match minute, Jönköping was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Bogren to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 41 minutes, Olof Hagberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Mazza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olof Hagberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half La Mazza were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olof Hagberg made a kick off. Olof Hagberg was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Christer Alefors put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Björn Söderström. After 58 played minutes La Mazza got a freekick which was hit by Knut Blom. When Jonas Östensson came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Jönköping fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Östensson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of La Mazza booed when Jönköping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Olof Fors didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christer Alefors got free with Björn Söderström in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Björn Söderström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olof Hagberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Jönköping's Björn Söderström got control of the ball when Christer Alefors tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Olof Hagberg got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
