An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Aleberg in the 3rd minute of play forced Skruv BK's goalkeeper Peter Mellin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Mellin made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Alfred Kilström sent off a good shot on target. Christopher Finman's late challenge caught a Västers IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christopher Finman helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Skruv BK got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Finman. Peter Mellin didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 8th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 12th minute, Alfred Kilström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Otto Askberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claes Hjortberg during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Skruv BK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! Skruv BK:s Peter Mellin showed great skill when he stopped Tommy Odén:s penalty. In the 23rd minute, John Asserlindh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Västers IF's Rune Ryberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Jonsson in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match Ivan Västerstrand sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rune Ryberg skillfully saved the ball. John Asserlindh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Tommy Aleberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Västers IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Aleberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfred Kilström might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Mellin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfred Kilström ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Skruv BK's zone, Otto Askberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Mellin came out of the goal and Otto Askberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Aleberg to make the kick off. Verner Sandström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rune Ryberg. Västers IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If John Asserlindh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfred Kilström in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Mellin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 66th minute, Tommy Aleberg made a precise shot to the right of Peter Mellin. Skruv BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Rune Ryberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Jonsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Mellin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Kilström, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 81st minute, Christopher Finman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Västers IF's Rune Ryberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Jonsson in the 85th minute of play. After 97 played minutes, Skruv BK's Verner Sandström shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rune Ryberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Skruv BK reached it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Skruv BK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Västers IF.
