After recieving a nice pass, Mönsterås's Robert Malmberg tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute of the match Axel Löfgren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Olof Biörling skillfully saved the ball. Mönsterås's Tomas Valrot got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute Patrick Lidberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Olof Biörling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Lars Hellqvist got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 28 minutes into the game, Kim Gallin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tävelsås's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mönsterås the free kick. Kim Gallin hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Lidberg in the 32nd minute of play forced Tävelsås's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Biörling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Olof Biörling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Lidberg in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Tävelsås booed when Mönsterås was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Valrot didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Patrick Lidberg came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Mönsterås fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Lidberg couldn't finish the play. If Tomas Valrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lars Hellqvist made the kick off in the second half. When Tomas Valrot came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Mönsterås fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Valrot couldn't finish the play. Edgar Boberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Ove Kling having to interfere. Sven-Olof Biörling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Valrot, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Aleksander Deckberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Sven-Olof Biörling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Lars Hellqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sven-Ove Kling was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Mönsterås booed when Tävelsås was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hampus Örtlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tävelsås's Sven-Olof Biörling proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Tävelsås from getting a goal against them. Patrick Lidberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Olof Biörling when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomas Valrot had several of the Tävelsås's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Sven-Olof Biörling as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Patrick Lidberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
