In the 18th match minute, Husby-Rekarne IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Wennersten to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Husby-Rekarne IFK's zone, Jens-Erik Larsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Björklund came out of the goal and Jens-Erik Larsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmund Bredberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Husby-Rekarne IFK's Henry Bruse got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 36 minutes of play, Husby-Rekarne IFK's Freddie Holmgren made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edmund Bredberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edmund Bredberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddie Holmgren's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Edmund Bredberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Bruse in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pelle Bergdal couldn't finish the play. Jens-Erik Larsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Michael Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Björklund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jens-Erik Larsson went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Husby-Rekarne IFK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
