Tommy Vennerdal might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tommy Vennerdal ran back to his position shaking his head. Jerry Siöman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arne Asserlind, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Jonas Esbjörnsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jerry Siöman. The goal made the score 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arne Asserlind was the one to do the kick off. Kevin Bergqvist was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Börje Sandell showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 57 minute of play. Jonas Esbjörnsson struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jerry Siöman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
