Henry Bruse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th match minute, Domsjö RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Broberg to maneuver through the defense. When Freddie Holmgren came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Husby-Rekarne IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddie Holmgren couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, Domsjö RK's Arne Asserlind sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Björklund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Domsjö RK's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Holmgren came free, but Kevin Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Freddie Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domsjö RK's Jonas Esbjörnsson got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Leonard Wennersten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Arne Asserlind left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Domsjö RK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 33 played minutes Domsjö RK got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Arne Åkesson. In the 35th minute, Stig-Arne Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henry Bruse might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry Bruse ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 48 minutes, Arne Asserlind managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Domsjö RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Asserlind was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henry Bruse made a kick off. Kevin Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Bruse in the 55th minute of play. Husby-Rekarne IFK's Freddie Holmgren got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Husby-Rekarne IFK's Michael Björklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Asserlind in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Husby-Rekarne IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Asserlind came free, but Michael Björklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 minutes, Måns Tunström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Husby-Rekarne IFK and the Domsjö RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Måns Tunström hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Arne Asserlind might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Björklund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arne Asserlind ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jonas Esbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 67 minutes into the game, Arne Asserlind cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Michael Björklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Husby-Rekarne IFK's Freddie Holmgren got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jonas Esbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Gilbert Göransson put in a rough tackle. 2-1 came through a penalty shot after 85 played minutes, when Husby-Rekarne IFK:s David Lindström calmly waited for Domsjö RK:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Freddie Holmgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddie Holmgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Kevin Bergqvist made a huge save.
