When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Börje Sandell made a kick off. Jerry Siöman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Erik Larsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jens-Erik Larsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Trödje IK's Lars Anundsson got a free kick in the 57th minute. Jens-Erik Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Siöman having to interfere. When Ingemar Hedbom was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. Trödje IK's Tommy Vennerdal got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 83 minutes, Stellan Spetz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Smidarnas IF and the Trödje IK players grew even worse after the yellow card.
