When Kim Ekblom fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Öckerö IF's protests and gave Kim Ekblom a yellow card for diving instead. Arne Lennartsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Fredric Valström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rickard Pedersson's late challenge caught a Öckerö IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickard Pedersson helped the player get up and apologised. After 14th play minutes Gunnar Ek shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Gilbert Löfkvist and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Lennartsson in the 18th minute of play forced Öckerö IF's goalkeeper Fredric Valström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Blom struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Gilbert Löfkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Öckerö IF. After having played for 24 minutes, Gunnar Ek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Öckerö IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Ek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 26 in the game by Gunnar Ek from a close distance when the talented Gilbert Löfkvist managed to make a qualified save. Åseda's players were relieved. Arne Lennartsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Fredric Valström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 minutes, Thor Vallgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Öckerö IF and the Åseda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thor Vallgren kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Arne Lennartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åseda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Lennartsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Öckerö IF booed when Åseda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernt Bure didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rickard Pedersson got his second yellow card in the match during the 37th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rickard Pedersson kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. With his leg Gilbert Löfkvist managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Öckerö IF's Gunnar Ek fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 44 minutes into the match, Öckerö IF's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Bure came free, but Fredric Valström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Rydberg hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Kevin Blom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kevin Blom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Åseda's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Ek came free, but Gilbert Löfkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Arne Lennartsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Åseda's Bernt Bure got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Bure in the 63rd minute of play forced Öckerö IF's goalkeeper Fredric Valström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Öckerö IF's zone, Arne Lennartsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fredric Valström came out of the goal and Arne Lennartsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Arne Lennartsson came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Åseda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arne Lennartsson couldn't finish the play. In the 67th match minute, Öckerö IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Holger Olsmann to maneuver through the defense. Per-Arne Rosendahl charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per-Arne Rosendahl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Åseda's Per-Arne Rosendahl got a free kick in the 68th minute. Fredric Valström was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Arne Lennartsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arne Lennartsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Arne Lennartsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Öckerö IF's zone, Bernt Bure stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fredric Valström came out of the goal and Bernt Bure tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Per-Arne Rosendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Arne Lennartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åseda's supporters rose to their feet, but Arne Lennartsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fredric Valström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernt Bure fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Valström having to interfere. Bernt Bure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Åseda were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Öckerö IF to leave the ground with a draw.
