The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pål Enegren took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenny Ekman. With a little luck, Finsta IF's Egil Hydén got control of the ball when Mårten Samuelsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kenny Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pål Enegren in the 13th minute of play. Pål Enegren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Kenny Ekman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Eric Berg got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 28 minutes into the match, Pål Enegren notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Legia Polonia's Kenny Ekman. Kenny Ekman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Pål Enegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute of the match Wiktor Groth sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kenny Ekman skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Legia Polonia defense, Pål Enegren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenny Ekman. The Legia Polonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenny Ekman should have stopped the shot. Ulf Malmberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Kenny Ekman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Legia Polonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Edström to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulf Malmberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pål Enegren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Kenny Ekman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pål Enegren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kenny Ekman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Legia Polonia's Kenny Ekman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Legia Polonia from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Joakim Edström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th match minute, Legia Polonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrik Bolin to maneuver through the defense. Kenny Ekman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Malmberg in the 81st minute of the match. Pål Enegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenny Ekman having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Legia Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Malmberg came free, but Kenny Ekman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kenny Ekman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulf Malmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Kenny Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Malmberg in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Finsta IF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Legia Polonia.
