With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thor Simonsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvin Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Kim Nyström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lainio's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Nyström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thor Simonsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the match, Ulricehamn RK's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Nyström came free, but Thor Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Uno Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thor Simonsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kim Nyström might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thor Simonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Nyström ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Ulricehamn RK's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Nyström came free, but Thor Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kim Nyström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ulricehamn RK's zone, Kim Nyström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thor Simonsson came out of the goal and Kim Nyström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kim Nyström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thor Simonsson having to interfere. After having played for 31 minutes, Uno Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lainio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uno Cane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thor Simonsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uno Cane went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Kim Nyström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thor Simonsson having to interfere. Thor Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Nyström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If David Berggren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kim Nyström made a kick off. Ulricehamn RK's Thor Simonsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Ulricehamn RK from getting a goal against them. Konrad Giliusson hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Kim Nyström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Thor Simonsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Nyström received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Thor Simonsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Kim Nyström slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 69th minute. Lars Nordström hit a great ball. If David Berggren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thor Simonsson came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Lainio's Uno Cane. But to his dismay, Uno Cane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Kim Nyström might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thor Simonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Nyström ran back to his position shaking his head. Lainio's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
