Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per Hammarberg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th minute Per Hammarberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ove Bennet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Åsljunga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oscar Kinnman was slow to take the kick. During this time Överkalix IF's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Överkalix IF's Oscar Kinnman to fire away a dangerous shot which Ove Bennet despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 17 played minutes Åsljunga got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Dahlberg. Per Hammarberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Erik Eckegren in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ove Bennet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lukas Dahlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Överkalix IF's Jens-Erik Eckegren made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ove Bennet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Per Hammarberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Bennet having to interfere. Ove Bennet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Hammarberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ove Bennet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Erik Eckegren in the 36th minute of the match. In the 40th match minute, Åsljunga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lukas Dahlberg to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per Hammarberg in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ove Bennet saved Åsljunga from getting behind. Jens-Erik Eckegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Bennet having to interfere. Jens-Erik Eckegren struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Ove Bennet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Överkalix IF. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ove Bennet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Hammarberg in the 51st minute of the match. Per Hammarberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Bennet having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Sven-Ove Skröder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Överkalix IF's Jens-Erik Eckegren got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Jens-Erik Eckegren got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Per Hammarberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Åsljunga's Ove Bennet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Hammarberg in the 70th minute of play. Per Hammarberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jens-Erik Eckegren in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ove Bennet, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Per Hammarberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens-Erik Eckegren got free with Ove Bennet in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Per Hammarberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ove Bennet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Jens-Erik Eckegren made a precise shot to the right of Ove Bennet. Åsljunga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 96 minutes into the match, Överkalix IF's Jens-Erik Eckegren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ove Bennet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Överkalix IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
