Sivert Andersson might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tord Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sivert Andersson ran back to his position shaking his head. Michel Sellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfons Åström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ragnar Pettersson in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michel Sellberg saved Ellös BK from getting behind. The supporters of The Saints booed when Ellös BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Dahlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, The Saints's Joakim Stenqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michel Sellberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ragnar Pettersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to The Saints getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Niclas Dahlberg hit a great ball. Michel Sellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfons Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. If Pär Dahlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Ellös BK's Östen Strömberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tord Bergqvist. Tord Bergqvist yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ragnar Pettersson in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michel Sellberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Östen Strömberg came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ellös BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Östen Strömberg couldn't finish the play. Michel Sellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ragnar Pettersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. If Pär Dahlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Östen Strömberg to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfons Åström got free with Michel Sellberg in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, The Saints's goal looked a bit too open when Pär Dahlberg came free, but Tord Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ellös BK's Michel Sellberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Pettersson in the 64th minute of play. Ragnar Pettersson struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Michel Sellberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Saints. If Alfons Åström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tord Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Östen Strömberg in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pär Dahlberg in the 78th minute of play forced The Saints's goalkeeper Tord Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Sellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Pettersson in the 85th minute of play. Alfons Åström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Sellberg having to interfere. Simon Wennerqvist hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 97 minutes of play, Ellös BK's Östen Strömberg made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tord Bergqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ellös BK had won after a very even match.
