The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. BoomFunkMCs's Sten Månsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikael Ahlroth in the 3rd minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Kjell Söderström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Evert Hjälm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sten Månsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Biörkquist in the 13th minute. A collision led to BoomFunkMCs getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Greger Nässén hit a great ball. In the 21stth minute of the game Mikael Ahlroth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BoomFunkMCs's Sten Månsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Liverbird defense, Kjell Söderström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evert Hjälm. The Liverbird fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evert Hjälm should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Sven-Arne Söderqvist in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Liverbird's Peter Strömberg. In the 36th minute, Dário Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute of the match Kjell Söderström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evert Hjälm skillfully saved the ball. Liverbird's Evert Hjälm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Söderström in the 38th minute of play. Alexander Biörkquist hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mikael Ahlroth to make the kick off. Sten Månsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Biörkquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Sten Månsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Mangueira in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Liverbird was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Biörkquist to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, BoomFunkMCs's goal looked a bit too open when Mikael Ahlroth came free, but Sten Månsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell Söderström took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evert Hjälm. Evert Hjälm dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Kjell Jernberg made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alexander Biörkquist however managed to control. 72 minutes into the match, Greger Nässén dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Evert Hjälm, 1-4. Sten Månsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Biörkquist in the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of Liverbird booed when BoomFunkMCs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greger Nässén didn't get a good kick on the ball. BoomFunkMCs's Alvar Brodin got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evert Hjälm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greger Nässén, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Evert Hjälm successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sten Månsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Mangueira in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Sigvard Gudmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind BoomFunkMCs's goalkeeper Sten Månsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched BoomFunkMCs eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
