The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Mellin got free with Oskar Kjellkvist in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastian Mellin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oskar Kjellkvist having to make a save. In the 18th match minute, Axbergs IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaf Myhr to maneuver through the defense. Oskar Kjellkvist made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Sebastian Mellin sent off a good shot on target. Vårby's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Mellin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oskar Kjellkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Mellin was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Axbergs IF defense, Sebastian Mellin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oskar Kjellkvist. The Axbergs IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oskar Kjellkvist should have stopped the shot. Oskar Kjellkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vårby. The supporters of Vårby booed when Axbergs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoffer Pååk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 minutes of play, Vårby's Sebastian Mellin made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oskar Kjellkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Isaac Gunnarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vårby fans cheered their team off the field, for while Axbergs IF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
