Bertil Sandberg hit a great ball. Lars-Erik Frisck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hjortberg having to interfere. August Hjortberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars-Erik Frisck, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jörgen Forsberg's late challenge caught a Orrefors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörgen Forsberg helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Linköping fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Lars-Erik Frisck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orrefors's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars-Erik Frisck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hjortberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Lars-Erik Frisck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute, Orrefors's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fredric Björk fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. August Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Frisck in the 78th minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Orrefors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars-Erik Frisck to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Linköping booed when Orrefors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertil Sandberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Linköping's Jan Ström threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Åke Tidén, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Orrefors's Jan Ström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Tidén in the 94th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
