An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Åke Blom in the 11th minute of play forced Linköping's goalkeeper August Hjortberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jens-Åke Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. August Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Åke Blom in the 13th minute of play. Fredric Björk succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 15th playminute. In the 18th minute, Östen Ekblom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26thth minute of the game Åke Tidén who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jonsered's Jimmie Haeger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joakim Nilsson during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Esbjörn Olofsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. August Hjortberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Linköping's Åke Tidén in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jonsered's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jonsered's zone, Fredric Björk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmie Haeger came out of the goal and Fredric Björk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esbjörn Olofsson to make the kick off. Linköping were furious when Billy Tingberg was red carded, 54 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 53rd minute, one of Linköping:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Linköping. Egon Nordin shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Jimmie Haeger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredric Björk, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Fredric Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Fredric Björk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67 minutes of play, Jonsered's Jens-Åke Blom made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. August Hjortberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jimmie Haeger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joakim Nilsson in the 72nd minute of the match. Jens-Åke Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Linköping's goalkeeper August Hjortberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Jonsered fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Jonsered's Esbjörn Olofsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Östen Ekblom fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Linköping's protests and gave Östen Ekblom a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Östen Ekblom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joakim Nilsson hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. August Hjortberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Åke Blom in the 85th minute. Fredric Björk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jimmie Haeger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 98 minutes, Fredric Björk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköping's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredric Björk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Jonsered players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Linköping from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
