Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute of the match Rasmus Bergman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but August Hjortberg skillfully saved the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Linköping's Åke Tidén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mattias Sandberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Jim Ahlgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute Åke Tidén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Sandberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Linköping were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Gunnarskog's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sten Stigsson took the corner. Joakim Nilsson kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Rudolf Östlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Linköping's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Ahlgren came free, but August Hjortberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rudolf Östlund in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hjortberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Fredric Björk came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Linköping fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredric Björk couldn't finish the play. Mattias Sandberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Åke Tidén's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Åke Tidén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Åke Tidén who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Mattias Sandberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Åke Tidén to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Åke Tidén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linköping's supporters rose to their feet, but Åke Tidén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Sandberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute Åke Tidén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Sandberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 played minutes Gunnarskog got a freekick which was hit by Jan Isaksson. Fredric Björk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Mattias Sandberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Linköping's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gunnarskog the free kick. The supporters of Gunnarskog booed when Linköping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Stigsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. August Hjortberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rudolf Östlund in the 64th minute. Eddie Larsson charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eddie Larsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, one of Gunnarskog:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gunnarskog. Rudolf Östlund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hjortberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. The supporters of Linköping booed when Gunnarskog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Ahlgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudolf Östlund got free with August Hjortberg in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gunnarskog's Mattias Sandberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Tidén in the 93rd minute of play. Mattias Sandberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Tidén in the 98th minute of play.
