Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Åke Tidén made the kick off and thus started the match. When Edvin Andberg came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Mellösa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvin Andberg couldn't finish the play. In the 11thth minute of the game Harry Bergsten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linköping's August Hjortberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rikard Wennerlund charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rikard Wennerlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mellösa's Rikard Wennerlund got a free kick in the 17th minute. With a little luck, Mellösa's Ralf Åhlberg got control of the ball when Fredric Björk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Fredric Björk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mellösa booed when Linköping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Forsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 played minutes Linköping got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Erik Nyman. Ralf Åhlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Tidén in the 26th minute of play. Åke Tidén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fredric Björk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Ralf Åhlberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Linköping's zone, Harry Bergsten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. August Hjortberg came out of the goal and Harry Bergsten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sten Stigsson charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sten Stigsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 47 minutes into the game, one of Linköping:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Linköping:s August Hjortberg showed great skill when he stopped Tobias Bergstedt:s penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Harry Bergsten made the kick off in the second half. Linköping's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Simon Björklund scored to the left of an out of position August Hjortberg, making the score, 0-1. In the 60th match minute, Mellösa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Bergstedt to maneuver through the defense. Edvin Andberg kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Mellösa's goal looked a bit too open when Åke Tidén came free, but Ralf Åhlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Linköping's August Hjortberg got control of the ball when Simon Björklund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ralf Åhlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Östen Ekblom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åke Tidén recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Björklund who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of August Hjortberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Åke Tidén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Åhlberg having to interfere. If Åke Tidén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Linköping booed when Mellösa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Soned didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harry Bergsten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Åke Tidén in the 94th minute of play forced Mellösa's goalkeeper Ralf Åhlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes Mellösa got a freekick which was hit by Fred Lund. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
