Leksands IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashington FC the free kick. After 12 played minutes Leksands IF got a freekick which was hit by Per-Oskar Kristiansson. Peter Söderkvist hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Kennet Hellström kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 18 minutes, Kennet Hellström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ashington FC and the Leksands IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ashington FC's Kennet Hellström got a free kick in the 18th minute. Torsten Brask received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Mikael Göransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Leksands IF's Mikael Hellgren got control of the ball when Timmy Wennerquist tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torsten Brask to make the kick off. If Per-Oskar Kristiansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Leksands IF got a freekick which was hit by Michael Johnsson. After 75 played minutes Ashington FC got a freekick which was hit by Timmy Wennerquist. Torsten Brask sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Ashington FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Åke Wenerdahl hit a great ball. If Per-Oskar Kristiansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Leksands IF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
