With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malte Lundqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Malte Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Stigsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Malte Lundqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sten Holmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Bernt Stigsson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Al Shorta FC's Malte Lundqvist. Malte Lundqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th minute, Bernt Stigsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Malte Lundqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 21 minutes, Mats Bengtsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BR Saints and the Al Shorta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, BR Saints was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Bengtsson to maneuver through the defense. Malte Lundqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Holmgren in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of BR Saints booed when Al Shorta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hampus Berggren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Al Shorta FC's Malte Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Stigsson in the 33rd minute of play. Bernt Stigsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Al Shorta FC's Oscar Danielsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Oscar Danielsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Al Shorta FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Oscar Danielsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 36th minute, one of Al Shorta FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Al Shorta FC. In the 39th minute there was a penalty for BR Saints. Simon Wahlström stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Malte Lundqvist. 0-4. Conny Giliusson made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Hampus Berggren sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sten Holmgren in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Malte Lundqvist saved Al Shorta FC from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Bernt Stigsson struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Malte Lundqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BR Saints. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Bernt Stigsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. BR Saints's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernt Stigsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malte Lundqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernt Stigsson was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Hampus Berggren sped through BR Saints's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Conny Giliusson. Conny Giliusson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sten Holmgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Malte Lundqvist made a huge save. Malte Lundqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Bengtsson in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adam Wennersten got free with Malte Lundqvist in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Al Shorta FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Andy Andersson hit a great ball. Pontus Mårtensson hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind BR Saints's goalkeeper Conny Giliusson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Malte Lundqvist was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bernt Stigsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 93 minute of play. BR Saints's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
