In the 14th minute, Jens-Erik Kjellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Tord Söderqwist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Morgan Gulliksson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Morgan Gulliksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tord Söderqwist in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Färgfemman FF booed when Carolus Rex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Paulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carolus Rex's zone, Tord Söderqwist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Morgan Gulliksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tord Söderqwist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the game, Tord Söderqwist recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Morgan Gulliksson. Tord Söderqwist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jens-Erik Kjellberg made a kick off. The Carolus Rex fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Morgan Gulliksson should have stopped the shot. In the 61st match minute, Carolus Rex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Blomqvist to maneuver through the defense. Tord Söderqwist took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Morgan Gulliksson. Tord Söderqwist's late challenge caught a Carolus Rex's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
