After a rather tough play, Carolus Rex's Carl Fransson got a free kick in the 7th minute. With a little luck, Grundsund RK's Nils Vennerlund got control of the ball when Georg Lööf tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nils Vennerlund made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jens-Erik Kjellberg sent off a good shot on target. A sloppy throw-in by Jesper Edström in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Grundsund RK's Bo Molin. Lars-Erik Holm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carolus Rex's Morgan Gulliksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Holm in the 28th minute of play. Lars-Erik Holm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Morgan Gulliksson having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jörgen Åberg during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carolus Rex's Jörgen Åberg got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Lars-Erik Holm ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Morgan Gulliksson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jesper Edström kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Morgan Gulliksson came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Grundsund RK's Ernst Kruuse. But to his dismay, Ernst Kruuse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Magnus Ahlbom was the one to do the kick off. Carolus Rex's Morgan Gulliksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Ahlbom in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Börje Engström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Morgan Gulliksson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Carolus Rex's Morgan Gulliksson got control of the ball when Lars-Erik Holm tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Grundsund RK's Lars-Erik Holm slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Morgan Gulliksson. That made the score 1-4 after 63 minutes of play. After some careless play in the Carolus Rex defense, Börje Engström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Morgan Gulliksson. The Carolus Rex fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Morgan Gulliksson should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Börje Engström got free with Morgan Gulliksson in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 76 minutes into the match, Carolus Rex's goal looked a bit too open when Magnus Ahlbom came free, but Morgan Gulliksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carolus Rex's Morgan Gulliksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Carolus Rex from getting a goal against them. Morgan Gulliksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars-Erik Holm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes, Jens-Erik Kjellberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carolus Rex and the Grundsund RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jens-Erik Kjellberg kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The supporters of Carolus Rex booed when Grundsund RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikael Nordin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Sten Bogren in the 88th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Nils Vennerlund's left hand side. The supporters of Grundsund RK booed when Carolus Rex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Åberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Lars-Erik Holm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Morgan Gulliksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grundsund RK played a much better game than Carolus Rex and deserved their victory. The Carolus Rex players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
