In the 16th minute Anders Malmberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jürg Fahlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Anders Malmberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jürg Fahlgren was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Arnäs IF defense, Anders Malmberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jürg Fahlgren. The Arnäs IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jürg Fahlgren should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Malmberg in the 23rd minute of play forced Arnäs IF's goalkeeper Jürg Fahlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnäs IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rikard Hermansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 51 minutes into the game, Mikael Hjortsberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brunflo IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arnäs IF the free kick. Mikael Hjortsberg hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Jürg Fahlgren made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Jan Lindström sent off a good shot on target. The nice shot from Anders Malmberg in the 56thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jürg Fahlgren had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Börje Ahlén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 played minutes Brunflo IK got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Hjortsberg. In the 63rd minute, John Hedbom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute, Börje Ahlén reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jürg Fahlgren. The goal made the score 0-3. After 72 played minutes Börje Ahlén rounded Arnäs IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Börje Ahlén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jürg Fahlgren having to interfere. Jürg Fahlgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Börje Ahlén in the 79th minute of the match. Anders Malmberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anaba Fahlgren's late challenge caught a Brunflo IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anaba Fahlgren helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Arnäs IF's Anaba Fahlgren got a free kick in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Arnäs IF's goalkeeper Jürg Fahlgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anders Malmberg. 94 minutes into the match, Anders Malmberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jürg Fahlgren. Arnäs IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anders Malmberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. The Arnäs IF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brunflo IK's performance. The match ended with a win for Brunflo IK.
