With a little luck, IFK Göteborg's Bernt Tinglöf got control of the ball when Christer Mikaelsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernt Tinglöf made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Kasper Berg sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Holm in the 15th minute of play forced BK Västra's goalkeeper Simon Holmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th match minute, BK Västra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conny Skarkman to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Bernt Tinglöf had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conny Skarkman. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when BK Västra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Hybbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado Piermattei in the 31st minute of play forced BK Västra's goalkeeper Simon Holmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corrado Piermattei in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Holmberg saved BK Västra from getting behind. 34 minutes into the match, Kasper Berg notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of IFK Göteborg's Bernt Tinglöf. Bernt Tinglöf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kasper Berg struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Bernt Tinglöf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BK Västra. The supporters of BK Västra booed when IFK Göteborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corrado Piermattei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kasper Berg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Tinglöf having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Christer Mikaelsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bernt Tinglöf. The goal made the score 2-0. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Jan-Ove Olofsson got a free kick in the 48th minute. Rune Magnusson, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kasper Berg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bernt Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kasper Berg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernt Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Berg, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Bernt Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kasper Berg in the 57th minute of play. With a little luck, BK Västra's Simon Holmberg got control of the ball when Corrado Piermattei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernt Tinglöf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasper Berg in the 75th minute of the match. IFK Göteborg's Bernt Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Berg in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Berg in the 79th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Bernt Tinglöf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Kasper Berg came free, but Bernt Tinglöf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernt Tinglöf came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by BK Västra's Kasper Berg. But to his dismay, Kasper Berg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Rune Magnusson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bernt Tinglöf. IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Simon Holmberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by BK Västra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Corrado Piermattei was slow to take the kick. During this time IFK Göteborg's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Corrado Piermattei almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but BK Västra's Simon Holmberg did a great save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BK Västra had played much better football throughout.
