The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Axel Kielberg during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of The Simpsons booed when Vikbolandet FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torsten Nordlund got free with Kurt Hafström in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th match minute, Vikbolandet FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Edvin Bengtsson to maneuver through the defense. After 13 played minutes Vikbolandet FK got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Nyström. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Hökkvist in the 14th minute of play forced Vikbolandet FK's goalkeeper Anton Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torsten Nordlund got free with Kurt Hafström in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Torsten Nordlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Kurt Hafström made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Pilgren in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anton Lundgren saved Vikbolandet FK from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esbjörn Kruuse in the 31st minute of play forced The Simpsons's goalkeeper Kurt Hafström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, The Simpsons's Kurt Hafström got control of the ball when Karl-Axel Kielberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, The Simpsons's Björn Hökkvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anton Lundgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Sven-Edvin Bengtsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 38 minutes had been played. Kurt Hafström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. With a little luck, The Simpsons's Kurt Hafström got control of the ball when Torsten Nordlund tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Pilgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Björn Hökkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Simpsons's supporters rose to their feet, but Björn Hökkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Lundgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 55 minutes, Thomas Pilgren made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vikbolandet FK's Anton Lundgren tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Simpsons's Kurt Hafström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Nordlund in the 58th minute of play. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, The Simpsons's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Nordlund came free, but Kurt Hafström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vikbolandet FK booed when The Simpsons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elof Lindholm didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes, Elof Lindholm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Simpsons and the Vikbolandet FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Vikbolandet FK booed when The Simpsons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position.
