The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Philip Grönberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Olof Pilgren in the 3rd minute of play. Olof Sikström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erling Strömbom in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erling Strömbom got free with Olof Sikström in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olof Sikström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakob Löfkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jakob Löfkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jakob Löfkvist struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Olof Sikström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fotboll Kickers. After 32 played minutes Bruket got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Siöberg. 34 minutes into the game, Erling Strömbom lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Olof Sikström. After having played for 37 minutes, Erling Strömbom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fotboll Kickers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erling Strömbom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erling Strömbom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Olof Sikström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Olof Pilgren in the 58th minute of play forced Fotboll Kickers's goalkeeper Philip Grönberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruket's Olof Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erling Strömbom in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Fotboll Kickers booed when Bruket was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Olof Pilgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes Bruket got a freekick which was hit by Fredric Flinck. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Erling Strömbom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fotboll Kickers's supporters rose to their feet, but Erling Strömbom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olof Sikström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakob Löfkvist in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olof Sikström saved Bruket from getting behind. Olof Sikström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Åke Lundblad in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Bruket's goal looked a bit too open when Osvald Åkesson came free, but Olof Sikström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jakob Löfkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Bruket's Birger Ekeroth got a free kick in the 91st minute. After 95 played minutes Bruket got a freekick which was hit by Petter Alin. In the 96th minute Osvald Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olof Sikström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
