Spectators: 7435 (Terracing: 5550, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) fakatax's George Grep started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to fakatax getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Karl-Erik Rydberg hit a great ball. If Bernt Ström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Eriksson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Blomstermåla IF's Michael Söderström. But to his dismay, Michael Söderström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 15th minute, Josef Spets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stig-Arne Björkman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kay Strasser, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Mark Eriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Söderström in the 21st minute of the match. Valdemar Söderquist kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Håkan Wallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mark Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertil Bergman in the 38th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, fakatax's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Ström came free, but Mark Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Eriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Söderström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernt Ström was the one to do the kick off. If Per-Arne Törnblom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the fakatax defense, Bernt Ström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mark Eriksson. The fakatax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mark Eriksson should have stopped the shot. Josef Spets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kay Strasser in the 78th minute of play forced Blomstermåla IF's goalkeeper Stig-Arne Björkman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, fakatax's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Söderström came free, but Mark Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernt Ström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Eriksson having to interfere. When Michael Söderström came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Blomstermåla IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Söderström couldn't finish the play. Blomstermåla IF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
