After 42 played minutes, Burträsk IF's Petter Tolsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ludvig Eliasson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burträsk IF reached it. The Borussia Dortmund players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Burträsk IF were winning 1-2.

Borussia Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burträsk IF the free kick. Ludvig Eliasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burträsk IF. Axel Gallberg hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Gunnar Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Burträsk IF's zone, Karl-Michael Burman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulf Anundsson came out of the goal and Karl-Michael Burman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Burträsk IF were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Borussia Dortmund's much stronger midfield.
