Nils Petersson ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Alrot in the 41st minute of play forced Downi FF's goalkeeper Alf Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leif Karlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Leif Karlsson came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Downi FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leif Karlsson couldn't finish the play. Alf Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Wiman in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute Dan Wiman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Downi FF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Stora Höga were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
